Plex library no longer updating

My PMS no longer updates my libraries when a scan is forced to run. I only noticed it within the last day or so, and updated to the latest beta release this evening with no change in behavior. I’m not sure of the exact version number prior, but it was the previous beta release.

New files added to my TV and TV-Archived libraries are not showing up. During my troubleshooting efforts I moved some shows from the TV library to the TV-Archived library and forced a scan update for both, but no changes are shown in Plex. I even forced a Metadata refresh as I’ve seen in the past that sometimes that makes Plex “realize” things have changed with the data structure. This time the refresh did nothing other than what it was designed to do.

For example, I moved from the TV library “13 Reasons Why”, “Away”, and several others to TV-Archived. I added a new episode of The Expanse (S05E06) to TV. None of those changes show in Plex. The PMS server and the Unraid storage server have both been rebooted.

So I did some further testing by creating two new test libraries - one for movies and one for TV shows. The test movies library will update just fine, but the test TV one will not.

If there were a problem with the agent I would expect to find something added that Plex couldn’t identify. As it is, it’s not finding anything at all. If I go to the folder view for the test TV library, it sees the contents of the shows I copied over.

I do follow Plex naming conventions, and the shows I copied over for testing are showing up just fine in the regular TV library.

Having a similar issue here!

Add movies (long scan times nowadays) but works,
Added a new season to an existing series and the new season will not show… and the scan time is horribly long now.

I am having this same exact issue on my Nvidia Shield Plex Server. Did anyone find a fix for this? Thanks

Scan times have gotten better but I’m surprised we’ve heard nothing from the support team at all here. Past experience has been great with support posting quickly.

I have two series now that have not updated with a new season added… just yesterday added a new season to a different existing series and it showed up just fine… yet the other 2 still are not recognizing the newly added seasons. Confusing AF
