New Library is not being scanned

Good evening

I just setup my plex server on my synology DS918+ on which i added my media files from another synology nas with shared nfs folders.

So i added all folders in the library with the according contents, but when finished the mediascan does not start (well it runs for about half a second and that’s it). No media found.

The media in the folders is organised in folders which each contains movie or a tv show (so 1 movie or show per folder).

Did i miss some settings or why is the scan not working? As database i chose the moviedatabase for the movies and thetvdb for the shows.

As a beginner with the plexserver and also not so experienced wiht nas i have no clue what the problem is and any help would be appreciated.

On my nas with the plex server i just granted permission, thanks for the tip, but it doesn’t seem to have any effect.

On the other nas (where the media files are phisically stored) the user plex doesn’t show in the user list, guess that’s ok?

Also i can only grant permission for the main shared folder, but not for the subfolders. Does that matter?

Found the problem: In the nfs settings i changed the Squash setting (whatever that is…) to “map all users to admin”. Hope that’s not too bad.

At least the library is beeing scanned.
