Sorry if this has been asked/brought up before, but I just noticed that the new and old agents overwrite metadata across separate libraries when doing a refresh. Tested with both Movies and TV Shows libraries. Is that a bug or a feature?
EDIT: I should have been more specific - it seems that only the actors’ metadata is shared and overwritten when refreshed.
That’s how it works - actor metadata is only stored once on the system.
The current Plex Movie and Plex TV Series agents typically use generic actor headshots. When all Libraries use those agents, actor metadata should stay pretty consistent.
The previous agents would use character-specific images. That could lead to strange scenarios, especially for actors who do voice work for cartoons, or those who sometimes play monsters.
Thanks for the reply. I will eventually migrate all libraries to the new agents, but in the meantime I was just wondering if that was the expected cross-agent behavior. I suppose in an ideal world, we’d have the series-specific actor images from the TVDB for each individual show and independent from the movie actor images.
