So the new update is bad and leaves a lot to be desired. So I really hope they listen to the community.
On a preview for a Testing Group iOS that I received today, all of those issues have been resolved and some. 
That is the many thousand of users who updated then became the testing group /s
Such poor rollout by the Plex team.
A rollback plan would have been good
With the latest version of iOS 18.4, I can’t use an external display as a playback device — it only allows screen mirroring, keeping the playback on both screens. Additionally, the TV doesn’t show the content in full screen, since it’s just mirroring the phone display.
If you’re referring to Plex for iOS 2025.13.0.1018, I saw that and was excited. Do you know WHEN they update?
Given it is in active best testing, I doubt anyone from Plex can provide a time, as it would depend on what issues are discovered or other dependancies.
What might give you hope, things are moving quickly at the moment, the last update (2025.12.0 1009) took about 6-7 days to get through TestFlight beta testing & into the App Store.
Saying the update is bad is an understatement. Total disaster, piece of crap, and hunk of garbage are more accurate. The update is a totally non-functional app, from a user perspective. It seems like a high school kid made it, or perhaps a college freshman for a side project. Also… DANGER! the latest version of the app WILL overheat your iphone battery. you cannot watch an entire movie without the battery overheating to the point of it being dangerously close to damaging or bricking your iphone.
