Server Version#: 1.43.1.10611
Player Version#: 2026.8.0
Both my firesticks have now updated to the latest version. Everything about the new version is slow.
When first opening if I want to navigate along my deck it can take seconds before it goes to the next poster. Because there is such a lag you often miss what you were going to select. And it takes time to highlight the correct poster.
The same can be said when you want to go up to libraries, it used to be I just selected back or left and I could navigate. Now I have to scroll all the way up to get to them. The lag also makes it worse. I thought selecting home would take me back to top but that didn’t work.
My firesticks are both hardwired and direct playing from my server on the same network now takes at least 30 seconds before it starts playing. This only started occurring after the new ui update.
Even trying to get to the about section for app version was difficult. There was a lag navigating all the way to the top then scrolling to then menu. The lag down to settings meant I missed it twice.
Also worth mentioning one of my Firesticks is a 4k Max, so I am surprised how slow the new app has been. Clearing cache and restarting app and stick hasn’t worked.
Can you double-check what version of the Plex app you have installed only our FireTV?
If it’s indeed version 7.1.2, that must be an ancient setup, dating back to the summer of 2018?!
Or is this an Amazon Fire TV 4K Select with their new “Vega OS”? This should run a Plex version like 2026.7.0
Same here. The highlighted selection is about a second behind. Posters and wallpapers “flash” in now instead of transitioning in. Next playing never starts on its own. When you go into a show, I have to click like 10 times before it’ll respond.
What app is everyone switching to now that Plex is unusable?
While not as extreme as OP I also notice some lag while navigating the UI and a serious lag in the actual UI focus highlighting, Focus is clearly being updated faster than the actual UI focus ring that matches it causing the already slightly laggy UI to appear even more laggy than it really is.
