its probably your browser cache.
the previous screenshot was Safari on iPad. I just opened my Windows 11 laptop to open both Edge and Firefox… and here’s the snap for that:
Edge - LEFT ------- Firefox - RIGHT
Oh some wizardry is going on here I’m out…
I’m sure its a slow roll out. I’m not certain how many servers have to update but I’m sure its being updated across all Plex domains
Job security. If you can convince people you need to redesign the interface every year and whatever else you can think of, they need to keep you around.
Yea it switched now but it’s weird so I’m out.
Thinking about it, I reckon that X on the end is just too sharp. To look at it, sure, but especially when you say it. Plex. PLEHCKS. Not warm and inviting and cozy at all.
While updating the brand is on everyone’s mind, I propose a name change too. Just a subtle one. Nothing too extreme. Nothing being changed just to change it. Something that retains the heart and soul and unique sensibility of the product.
Behold:
plebi

Isn’t that nice? Lovely and soft and warm and nice and lovely and soft and nice. You can even retain that chevron (but softer and nicer and uniquer) in the loop of the b!
No no, no need to pay me right now. Just get your people to talk to my people and we’ll work something out.
There’s a backlog of stuff not added and bugs that many users have been asking to be fixed. There’s PLENTY of tasks and projects for ALL 99 Plex employees to be kept on payroll for years to come.
I would assume their graphic designer doesn’t know how to do all of that. They just design and redesign the visual look of everything.
Although the way things have been going I wonder if 88 of the employees are graphic designers and only 11 work on the code.
Ok but now you created a BING imposter. ![]()
I figured it was OK because trademark infringement only applies when there is reasonable chance of confusion from the viewer and since nobody actually looks for bing, confusion isn’t reasonably possible. ![]()
Lol it’s funny, the way windows can have bing used is forcing it upon users of Edge. It would have otherwise gone unnoticed.
Fisher Price would be proud.
Interesting comparing them all… Lots of similarity to Pluto. Guess it’s better to blend in, than stand out?

Well, one of the new hires last year or so at Plex WAS a former employee at PlutoTV, so this makes sense that it might have been suggested to alter the appearance of the brand identity to something “inviting”.
Additionally, I recently found a NEW NEW hire that went under my radar.
I’d like to point out that Plex is and has stopped being one of those startup unicorns years ago. It’s evidentially enough with the numerous amount of changes the past few years that Plex has been gutted.
Oh gawd noooo
Speaking of logos and new identity…
Check out CNET’s!!!
LOL wtf is going on with the corporations?!?!
HIDEOUS

The dyslexic in me sees “CENT.”
Hoping, perhaps foolishly, that this new logo will be tied to a large new release that answers many of our hopes and dreams. Sometimes you just have to be optimistic.
Seems like effectively a Rorschach test. In these forums anyway.
The N is more profound that I just read NET. It’s such a nuance of a font choice.
It honestly makes the new Plex logo look better. If anything, Plex could use some kerning adjustment but oh man, this Cnet logo is just something else.
