In the end, what the logo looks like is pretty much trivial, but I just find this new logo difficult to look at. I can’t quite put a name to it – it’s not painful, just… unpleasant.
I want a detailed explanation on why the X has gaps??? This is really important information…
@elan can you tell us the significance behind the new design?
I also want to know the significance of going all lower case from upper case?
Do I need to keep capitalizing the P in “Plex” or is it now formally “plex”?
I can live with it, too. But it looks dumb.
E.lan is a busy guy!
And might have been a joke from your side?
But please stop pinging folks!

Not a joke at all.
The new logo does look pretty childish now.
You ALL don’t get it do you?
This logo goes back to the old one(similar), too signal (if you hadn’t already ready figured it out)…
…A NEW BEGINNING. good bye to the old, in with the new…
…your Plex Pass and personal media doesn’t mean s#!t to the new plex
You mean the one I use for my profile … ![]()
Gupta will be tasked with supercharging Plex user growth and retention.
That probably means one of two things.
- Add features users want, before the competition does.
- Change the direction of the company in search of a larger user base.
Hopefully he can focus Plex back on #1 and reign in their tendency for #2 (cough: arcade).
There’s a lot of people who don’t give a ■■■■ about plex anymore and are more than willing to switch platforms on the next intentional alienation of their user base. The logo is just ridiculous and child-like and there’s no reason to not be ultra critical of the decisions they make.
I’ve expressed my view on the logo, but I don’t appreciate this petty, hateful bullshit. I’m a little sorry I stepped into this thread.
And then you throw some around yourself?
I don’t mind the new logo. I guess it’s just to look more modern and fresh (all companies do this from time to time).
But I can’t unseen the E when you imagine it blue (with a slightly slanted circle)
What about new plex Wallpapers? ![]()
You know what? I just noticed that in the old logo the ‘E’ and the yellow part of the ‘X’ formed a house.
I still like the new logo, I think it looks good, but I’m a bit sad to lose that little house. It was a clever effect.
The new CNET logo looks like something you would see stenciled on a Russian submarine.
Please add an option in settings to keep the old logo. The new one looks awful.
Bloody horrendous. I know it’s their prerogative, but they really should’ve done a little testing to see what their actual users think. It makes no sense. I’m looking at the thing and trying to understand what might’ve been going through their obviously genius-level brains. Beyond me.
The chasm between tech companies/developers and end-users is becoming very wide.
Old one look better in my opinion. This new logo is like fat version of it.
