Are you going to stop supporting python agents?
If so, can you have an example project for making a c++ agent that you can share so that those of us who have python agents can begin switching over?

You are correct, it was set to 2Mb/s… bumped it to max and it works fine now on the web browser

The existing Python agents will continue working but our focus will be on the new “native” agents. An api for the new agent stack is something we’d like to support in the future but as of now there are no firm decisions on that.
That’s how I name my files. Orignal name + Portuguese name between square brackets + year

It works just fine with the official scanner, but I’m having two little problems with the New Scanner.
- First, the new scanner is able to Match my video file but it can’t find my subtitles. If I remove the square brackets from all the files, it is able to detect the subtitles. Again, no problem with the match, only with the local subtitles.
- Second and weird one, while using square brackets if I change the name of only one file, the scanner will not detect the change hence not triggering the scanner. So, I have to remove all the brackets in order to Plex trigger its scanner automatically (without manually refreshing metadata)
Plex ignores anything in square brackets…
I don’t think it does. But even if it did, after ignoring the content between brackets, that would be the result after parsing:

just perfect for a matching.
I’d like to know this too. Doesn’t make sense for a database to have multiple listings of the same movie just for the different versions, but a way to tag a file as being a unique version (and why it’s unique) would be great. Some default tags like “Unrated” “Extended” “Theatrical” and such should cover a lot, with the option to add/edit tags that are used.

The Bridge - (2006).pt-BR.srt most likely would not be.
For sub titles it expects either a 2 or 3 character country code ie .en.srt or .eng.srt
Other databases I use have a drop down that you can add your own or pick from the list. Labeled Edition.
That then is added to the file name after the movie name in a rename…
my movie - Unrated (2000)
So you have the structure of
my movie (2000).mkv
my movie (2000).eng.srt
my movie - Unrated (2000).mkv
my movie - Unrated (2000).en.srt
all in the folder my movie (2000)
All the extras follow that file name and match -poster -thumb etc…

I’m thinking more of just a flag within Plex for the user experience. Instead of having to split and then rename an entry, simply bring up the list of files and their run times and then be able to click and choose which edition it is.
I prefer for Plex to not alter/rename my folders or files, only handle things internally as it has been. Splitting up the media into separate folders (but on the same primary path) could also be made to have Plex prompt the user if there is a difference between the two matching items.
Hi. Just added a large collection of movies and its very, very fast. Han’t finished yet, but have noticed one movie, Burden (2020) for which the match is incorrect. Attached are screenshots. Great update!

for mis-matches during the preview… you should be ok to do a manual fix-match.

Maybe Plex wanted to introduce you to Hanna van Vliet. She’s rather attractive and Plex certainly gave me an incentive to watch that particular movie.
any hints of a new version ? - Perhaps with support for TV-Shows as well ?

With a library of 3069 movies had very few misses regarding matching. I did the Fix Match so you’ll get the information. I did get quite a few cases where the poster did not display, just showed a black frame, even though the art does exist. In most of these, I had to edit and manually pick the poster.
When are we going to see this new scanner as an official release. I love the agent but it affected my music metadata for “Mood” and “Style” for Radio in Plexamp so I uninstall preview and install PMS 1.19.4.2935.
This scanner is only affecting movie matching / metadata.
If you see an impact on music mood/style information that’s probably an issue for a different thread.
Thanks for the replay Tom, I have a problem when I install the preview that I lost music “Mood” and “Style” when I open Plexamp and Elan is the one that suggested that the problem could be a bug in preview. As soon as I delete the preview and install PMS 1.19.4.2935 it fix the problem.

Those statements don’t conflict. It just means that the stable build contains stuff / patches that have not been applied for this particular preview. The movie scanner itself is not impacting your music experience.
That being said… the preview build is intended to be used to test the new movie scanner / agent. You should not use it for your everyday use (hence Elan pointed you to use the official build).

Curiosity will always rule, is the lesson here Tom. I no longer use the Preview as it now seems almost mature so interest has wained for me.
