With this version, the original Plex Movie agent is now called “Plex Movie (legacy)” and the new one, “Plex Movie” but here I can not see Local Media Assets (Movies) which I believe I need for Plex finding external .srt subs.
Is there a reason for obscuring what imdb/tmdb ID is being used? I’ve been using the API to fix mismatches and this new approach seems to prevent any such tools from functioning.
Please don’t. Use the “Fix Match” menu item in Plex Web. Because if more users are doing it with the same file name, Plex will “learn” the right match over time.
Refreshing some movies, there are more cast members and more actor’s photos previously missing but I’ve run into a couple of movies where cast members is incomplete compared with the legacy agent.
The article mentions to “drop a post in our forum” if something is amiss. Is there a dedicated thread for these posts?
What is the source of this agent? TMDB? Because there, the cast for these couple of movies is right
The fact that you seem serious with this reply is baffling me. I hope this does not reflect the thoughts of the developers because this is just a horrible way of going about “improving” your product.
You don’t seem to realise that the GUI uses the API when fixing a match. Thus if you didn’t prevent our ability to fix mismatched by being able to identify what it is actually matched to as we could before you would still get the same information for your “crowd sourcing” purposes.
If your “crowd sourcing” reasoning is the sole basis for the format change of guid values it does not seem like a good change.
