No, with the new scanner/agent you can have different preferences per library. So if you wanted to use your embedded metadata on one library and not the others then that will be possible.
Reading embedded metadata for the new scanner isn’t yet in these builds but should be soon.
Could you give me a list of all the files in that movie’s folder? This looks like it’s still using local artwork for the poster but that should have been fixed in this build.
Collections are not yet implemented in these builds.
I couldn’t see any issues on my side using this setup. poster.jpg is correctly picked up as the poster so my only guess is that your poster.jpg file wasn’t actually a poster.
Enable the display of filename extensions in Windows file explorer.
Then see if your subtitle files have double file name extensions. i.e. The BFG (1989).en.srt.srt
Right now I can’t update to the new Plex version but will do it to a bit later time.
What I was wondering is, does this only has an effect on Movie Scanning & Storing or also on presentation? I am particularly asking as I am wondering if for Android TV it now does show actors as it does on Plex Web (right now it cannot show actors on Android TV only fan critics).
This aside, I greatly appreciate to hear this improvement. Keep the good work on!
How about a library rescan during maintenance…
Anyway it’s still slow compared to other media manager like TMM…
It does my whole library in under an hour and it gathers more information.
I do that every few weeks for it to pick up updated information, works very well since new stuff isn’t always complete.
Other thing I am finding troublesome is the changing of the Movie/Show year in the different databases. It used to be a movie year was the year if was first released in no matter what country it was released in. Now it seems to be all over the place.
Just so everyone knows TV Shows and their years are even worse. I have a show that was run in the sixties and the TVDB changed the year to the current rerun of the syndicated show. And since I use the date with the name, that can be a problem that just starting happening with all these API changes. The databases have made. say the last 6 months. Getting them fixed is almost impossible, their right and I’m wrong no matter how much proof I can provide including pointing to the official site, doesn’t matter.
sorry about getting off track but figured it would be useful once you get to looking at shows also.
After updating the Preview Server, I have to re apply Remote access ( Click apply to have remote access). This has occurred each time. No biggy but a fact, is there a good reason for this occurrence that I’m missing? This is post creating a test library, so is the scanner demanding resources that will interfere with a active remote access.
