I am currently running my Plex server on Ubuntu Server 18.04. The new Plex Movie agent does not seem to work at all for me. It will successfully find the movie but it will not load any metadata at all. When I go to the Agent settings and click the settings gear icon, it loads up a blank settings page. The Legacy agent works perfectly fine. Any idea what could be causing the new agent to not work?
Those settings being blank is normal, it shouldn’t be showing up there at all but that is getting fixed in an upcoming web client update. All settings live in the Advanced library options now.
To understand why your movies aren’t matching I’d need some logs, you can grab those from Settings -> Troubleshooting -> Download Logs.
Logs attached. Right before downloading the logs, I unmatched Captain Marvel using the Legacy agent and tried matching it with the new agent and it did not download any metadata.
Please let me know if you need anything else to troubleshoot.
Have you upgraded your library already? It looks at first glance that you’re just manually running a Fix Match.
I have not, this is from a manual fix match. I haven’t done a library upgrade yet since I was afraid it would break the metadata for all my current movies. If this is not the case, do you advise I do that?
The library must be set to use the new agent otherwise it won’t work correctly.

You could always create a new separate library and point it to the same files if you want to give it a spin first.
I just tried it on a smaller library I have and it works great. I just misunderstood how it worked and that I needed to upgrade the library first.

I was bugged by this issue for 3 days now and couldn’t figure out why my plex movie (legacy) agent is working fine but plex movie agent not. The library upgrade solved it, so thanks a lot!
I have the following issue when upgrading to the new Plex Movie Agent:
After refreshing a movie, the Rating field is wiped but the IMDb rating is displayed correctly.
At first, that could seem trivial but having an empty Rating field is affecting the sorting order when sorting by Critic Rating, the movies are not sorted by rating but in a seemingly random fashion.
Anyone else also experiencing that the Rating field is empty after refreshing a movie with the New Plex Movie Agent?

The IMDb rating is not a critic rating. It is made by regular users, not critics.

Which rating field are you referring to?
There are several different ones.
Please use the newest version of the web app, which is only available under https://app.plex.tv
This is getting fixed in future updates on the Web client (you can already see those changes at https://app.plex.tv).
You were never supposed to be able to change critic ratings (which this value points to) as that why we have a user rating field.

How do I sort my movies by the best IMDb rating?
When sorting my movies by Critic Rating using the New Plex Agent, the movies are no longer sorted by IMDb rating but in a seemingly random fashion. Why is that?
If I use the “old” Plex Agent, sorting my movies by Critic Rating is correctly sorting my movies by IMDb rating. I would like to achieve this using the New Plex Media Agent.

It seems sorting by “Audience Rating” displays my movies by IMDb rating.
This is excellent because I find the New Plex Agent a lot faster.

Well this is really a disappointment… In my Plex Media Player 2.58, no IMDb ratings are visible anymore… I can see ratings in Plex Web but not in PMP. For me, this is a real show-stopper…
I guess I’ll be reverting back to the old sluggish Plex Agent that is at least working as expected…
@drzoidberg33: any comments on IMDb ratings together with Plex Media Player 2.58 before I start reverting to old Plex agent?
