Not getting IMDb ratings?!?

Hello

I am a little confused about the new Plex movie agent and IMDb ratings. I cannot seem to get IMDb ratings on my movies. I am using Plex 1.0.2.2413 running on a Ubuntu server.

I have set up the Plex movie agent like this:

After setting the Plex movie agent I have done a full refresh. I even removed the entire movie library and did a re-import of everything. But I still do not get IMDb rating on the movies.

An example would be The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. It gets a rating of 6.9 on my Plex server, but on IMDb it is rated as 7.9. I assume that this means I am still getting ratings from The Movie Database (6.9 is the rating on The Movie Database).

I might be misunderstanding something… What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

please post the mediainfo XML of your Hobbit movie. It might be still ‘matched’ to TMDB.
Changing the Agent in the properties of a library does not change the matching agent of movies which are already in the database at this time.
This can be only changed by:

  • doing a ‘Fix Incorrect Match’
  • performing the Plex Dance
  • erasing the library and re-creating it

Changing the ‘matching agent’ of an item will also invalidate its watched/unwatched state.

I have tried to erase the entire library and re-creating it and also a “Fix Incorrect Match”… no success!

I will try the Plex Dance tonight.

Hello I have done all your suggestions. Nothing changed the rating to IMDb’s rating.

Try this:
delete the cache of the agents

.imdb
.themoviedb

Activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)

Refresh this movie,
wait 2-3 minutes
fetch the /Logs/PMS Plugin Logs/com.plexapp.agents.imdb.log
and seek for error messages in there.

Hello again,

I did exactly what you wrote and I captured the output from both the “imdb”-log file and also “themoviedb”-log file.

As far as I can see there appears to be no errors in the log files, but I might not know what to look for exactly?

I have uploaded the output to pastebin, since there was too much output to include in the thread.

IMDb output: http://pastebin.com/ew032hxz

The Movie DB output: http://pastebin.com/ZKHccTqh

(BTW, thank you very much for your help so far!)

Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie
Is ‘TheMovieDatabase’ higher up in the list than ‘Plex Movie’?
If so, it ‘overrides’ the values from the Plex Movie agent.

Correct the order and refresh the movie again.

Very strange…

‘The Movie Database’ does not exist under ‘Plex Movie’ on my server, as you can see on the following screenshot:

But then I went into ‘The Movie Database’ and that contained both ‘The Movie Database’ and ‘Plex Movie’. ‘Plex Movie’ was unchecked, but after checking it and moving it to the top it appears to work as it should!

I really think the ‘Agents’-section in the settings is quite confusing, but I am happy I got it working. Thank you very much for your help and patience

Do you have several copies of this movie?
Or did you a ‘fix incorrect match’ or a PlexDance in the meantime?
because your mediainfo XML clearly shows that the movie is matched to Plex Movie. Because of this, changing the order under TheMovieDatabase should have had no influence.

Confused too.

I am a bit confused too… But nevertheless happy that is is working!

I do not have multiple copies of the movie and I did not do any other thing in the meantime.

The only thing I did was change the order and enabled ‘Plex Movie’ in the ‘The Movie Database’-section (as shown in the last screenshot) and then refreshed the movie. Then the score was from IMDb.
