Before updating to the new movie agent I had a sports genre. Now I do not. I assume others are missing as well but sports is one I use the most. Any way to easily get that back? I have over 5000 movies so anything that involves locking it in or doing something to every movie is not possible.
Also any way to tell plex agent or plex what genres to look for or skip?

That’s a nice idea, I can’t make any promises but I’ll bring it up for discussion.
I have a lot of sports movies. I would venture to say nearly a quarter of my movies are sports. The 3rd pic shows nearly 5000 movies. As you can see no sports genre. You can also see the movie d3 (Mighty Ducks 3), which is a sports movie, in the picture.
The first picture shows 3 sports movies. the second picture shows one of those movies and the genres listed.
The fourth picture is movies narrowed by Kevin Costner. Of which 4 of the movies in the picture are sports movies.
All of the movies I outlined are famous sports movies and/ or collections.
So its not that some of my movies did not keep the sports tag. Its that none of them, and as I said I would guess I have nearly 1250 sports movies. Some are obscure movies, but most are big hits.
I have identified an issue with how we select the genres for some movies and once that’s fixed some of your movies are going to get the Sport genre back. Bull Durham, Draft Day and For Love of the Game are marked as Sport in IMDB, those are the ones that we can fix on our end.
The other ones that I’ve looked at: D3 The Mighty Ducks, Angels in the Outfield, Angels in the Endzone, Angels in the Infield and Field of Dreams don’t have a Sport category in neither IMDB or TMDB so I’m surprised that they were ever marked as Sport on your end, is it possible they weren’t? The only way for you to fix those is to edit them and lock the field. You could wait for our fix first and that will hopefully add the genre back to a significant percentage of your movies, it will most likely go out in January.
To start I have never edited the genres for any movie. So all evidence i show is unaltered.

You’re right, my bad, I was looking at the IMDB header that only displays top 3 genres and didn’t realize there could be more. In that case all of these are going to get fixed, I will follow up with an update once the fix has gone live.
