Fired up the TV, launched Plex, the new Movies & TV feature was showcased, I clicked “OK”, scrolled down the sidebar to the Movies & TV icon, click on it and nothing shows up but a message
“This library us currently empty. The server owner still needs to add media or remove and filters that may prevent it from appearing here. Please reach out to the owner for assistance.”
So I go on my computer to see if any content shows up there, yup, on my computer browser the content shows up just fine, but nothing on the TV App.
Then I thought to check on my Android phone…yup the content shows up there too, same thing with my iPad and my wifes iPhone.
Am I just waiting for Plex to update the LG TV app or is the service broken at the moment?
Clearly I have no filters in place, it shows up on all our other devices except our LG smart TVs.
Plex IS working on the TV with our media servers and can access all of our media on all our devices. We also have fantastic internet connection, so that’s not the problem.
We have several LG TVs in the house, all loaded with Plex, none of them are showing any content in Movies & TV, only showing content from our media servers…what’s the deal?
This happened at first on both my Fire Stick 4K and My Android phone… I waited with the Fire Stick 4K and the issue corrected itself after about 3 hours… For my android, logging out of it and logging back into it corrected the problem. I’d say try logging out and logging back in. The only reason I waited 3 hours with the Firestick is because I had to go to class and didn’t want to mess with it at the time, by the time I got back from class the issue had corrected itself…
I installed plex today on samsung and LG TV but cannot connect to media server on LG TV let alone get to a point where it shows the options available it just comes up and says “We couldn’t reach a media server” have tried removing and reinstalling, signing out and back in but nothing seems to help, any help appreciated.
LG TV here. Downloaded plex. Only plex movies show up. I’m logged into the server, but none of the server’s content comes up. Works on every other TV, on laptop, phone etc. Tried to unpin all Plex company stuff on my computer and just leave my server’s movies and TV. Still nothing. Tried to call plex. Left 5 messages. No answer.
Not sure who you’re calling, but PLEX doesn’t have a telephone tech support, so even if you were contacting the company, they won’t respond to you through the phone, nor through the e-mail. ALL Tech support is done through the forums.
As for your issue, it’s completely different from the issue in this thread. In your case, Plex Movies & TV is showing up just fine, but your actual Library is not (provided I understood you correctly). In this thread, these folks are having exactly the opposite, Movies & TV was NOT showing up for them, but their own Libraries were. So I would recommend you start a new thread here on the forums, tag it with the LG tags, and fully describe your problem, as well as submit any relevant log files you can. Screenshots or pictures of what you are seeing on your television are also helpful.
