Believe me when I say “I feel your pain.” I had the exact same issue the other day on our Nvidia Shield and it didn’t matter where I initiated the scan of music files from (i.e. my windows laptop using the desktop app or directly in the client on any Nvidia Shield device (we have 3)…the end result …

Restarting PMS (or the whole NAS) might help. It did for me: Problem updating music library
