When can we expect this app in the appstore?
I will be happy to pay/donate for this app.
No sign from the author of this post for more than a month…is this a fake ?
Nope… but he’s involed in the Lighthouse project. All of us that ar in the beta are there
You cheap ■■■■■■■...
looks like you know more than some of us so when is this suppose to be available ?
ok ok i'll buy it ^^
No clue TBH. I only beta test it when I have time. Still early doors I would say. Few bugs and snippets to correct first.;)
I'd like to help beta test but i can't find the project in lighthouse...can someone provide a link?
Now this app will be very interresting on the iPad !
Hey Guys,
Thanks for the ongoing support. I am still actively working on the app, (now called Controllr) but I am currently moving, and work full-time, so I cannot spend as much time on the project as I would like. There are a few bugs I need to iron out before submitting 1.0 to Apple.
After this initial release, I will explore the possibility of an iPad (*cringe) universal binary.
Stay tuned. . .
Good to hear turbolag.
We’ve waited so long for something that works, a few more weeks/months won’t hurt.
U're kidding, right?
While I liked what i saw at the start of this thread, to say that there is nothing out there that doesn't work i think is fairly inaccurate. Snatch+Aarghaknot's remote works great. The XBMC remote works well enough, and there are numerous other apps that forum members have noted here that work.
I'm still excited about this app, but c'mon, let's not unnecessarily bash those who have already provided...
if we're talking weeks and worse months, prepare an iPad version immediately...the iPhone version needs to be out very soon otherwise it'll be too late...someone else will do it i guess, it's just an advice to the author because i guess there is money to take there
Kidding about what exactly?
The man said he's moving house and has a full time job (a social life too no doubt).
Now taking all that into account he'd be lucky to be coding even 2 hours a day during the week. A little more a day on weekends. So optimistically he's coding what, 15 hours a week? Not that much time when you think about it...
So no, I'm not kidding. :)
Although I could be wrong and turbolag may be a coding freak of nature staying up until crazy o'clock every night to get this completed in the next week.
My bad, my wording was off, a 2nd attempt...
"Good to hear turbolag.
**While I'm grateful for all the hard work others have put into alternative solutions,** we've waited so long for something that works **as you describe**, a few more weeks/months won't hurt. :)"
It would be nice for others to create alternatives to this app, but seeing as we've already waited so long for even 1, Plex specific app, I don't think there's any fear of anyone beating turbolag to the punch.
iPad version would be VNC (Remote Desktop). This already exists on the iPhone but is unusable because the screen is too small. This will obviously change soon... ;-)
Will this work with plugins? Or, at least, with Netflix/Hulu TV shows & movies added via plexflix? Will the new library in the forthcoming 0.9 release of Plex make that possible? That would be the killer feature for a Plex remote.
For all that the ■■■■■■ remotes etc. represent very good work, they’re not ideal IMO. Non-tactile buttons on a screen mean you have to divide your attention between the remote and the TV, which I find maddening. I’d rather have a normal remote with physical buttons, and just look at the TV; or have a menu-based remote like this, and just look at the remote. Also, the ability to play music without turning on the TV is a HUGE plus.
Support plugins, and use swipe gestures instead of buttons on the ‘now playing’ screen, and this would be the best thing out there. I’d happily pay for that - more than $0.99. That would surely be worth five bucks or so to me.
Wait, also, while I’m here: it would be great if this could start Plex on a machine where it’s not running; or at least where it’s running but hidden; until we have full EyeTV support in Plex, I keep my machine parked in the Finder, with the option to start either EyeTV or Plex. It would be great to be able to make that choice right from the iPhone.
as I said....Media hound has been released...
5.99 AU$...
Any chance of a few screenshot or maybe even a video? Just want to see if it's worth the 6 bucks (for me)
Or maybe a lite version with some functionality - not enough to be a replacement, just to get an idea of how it works.
thanks
so ???
