i need you help. i cant get it to connect it says host not found. is there any special settings i need to change in plex? i currently use a harmony remote and want to be able to have th eoption to continue using that also.
Make sure you have Plex and Plex Media Server running before you try and connect.
I have plex and media server running and it still refuses to connect. Am I correct in assuming all I need to do is point the app to my ip address?

Yes, it talks directly to Plex, it doesn't require a server side app running like some remotes.
You need to ensure you have the HTTP server running in Plex. To ensure it is running properly type this url into your web browser:
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:3000/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=GetVolume()
where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (or host name) is the IP address of the machine running Plex. You should get a response which will appear as plain text in your browser.

I am not sure if this has been covered but I couldn’t see it in the threads but I too cannot get it to see my music library - TV Shows and Movies - great - nothing in the music library though … any suggestions?
I have mentioned it too, its never worked for me, so I assume its a bug.
There is a screen shot of a populated Artist / Album screen in the App Store, buts thats the only place I have seen it working 
Controllr will not be able to list music that is shared from your iTunes library (Im working on it for an update). It will however, show music you have from a source that is viewable in library mode.

hi, bought the app, its a start but there’s still a few bugs, proper remote intergration would be great , also a way to play albums instead of just a single track.
Hello, i bought this app today. It looks really good but i cant get it to work. I get all the tv shows and movies on the iphone that i have on my mac running plex. But when i press play on a movie, nothing happens. I am ensure that i have the HTTP server running in Plex. What can i be doing wrong??

the app is really great, looks fantastic and is going to fullfill my remote dreams :), but not yet. I didn’t find a way to quit a movie through the touchpad function (long menu press on the apple remote) and though the movie covers do show up, they tend to disappear when i scroll up (The first time i scroll down, they are all there, but when i scroll up most covers above that point(furthest point have disappeared and won’t be displayed until i restart the app.
I wanted to create just such a remote, but fortunatly stumbled on your app and bought it. If you didn’t need the money and had already been paid your expenses i’d love the remote to be open source
I am absolutly new to Cocoa and had major problems just in the beginning e.g. with the combination of tab bar and Table View. The whole idea behind the remote is so easy (Webserver API + the not so easy Cocoa coding) that i don’t get why nobody else with sufficient coding skills made a remote with library support for plex.
Im looking forward to an update which is going to add Itunes Library compatibility, and hope your app will still work after the major upcoming plex update

@tommy try to open with safari: http://yourip:3000 and start a movie with that interface, if that works i don’t know the reason but otherwise you might have to reinstall plex

Hopefully, we’ll get some news about the author on those bugs…I hate the fact a lot of us are reporting those and we get no support …feels like “I got your cash now goodbye”. I expected a bit more than that !
