New server install - new server shows less TV shows then old server?!

Server Version#:latest - old server was up-to-date new server is a new install
Player Version#:4.147.1 on both servers

old server has a failing drive (media is stored on another drive)

followed the ‘move an install to another system support article < https://support.plex.tv/articles/201370363-move-an-install-to-another-system/>

new server shows 4 fewer TV shows when viewing all-TV shows-by title then the old server

the same number are showing when viewing folders

how can the missing TV shows be found?!

thanks

Do you have collections which hide the shows in the collection?

When sorting by title, Plex displays “X Shows” under the poster instead of “X Seasons” or “X Episodes.”

Using Plex Web, sort the library by Title (All, TV Shows, Title). Change All to Collection. It will list any collections in the library.

Also look for duplicates. Sort the library for episodes: All, Episodes, By Show. Change All to Duplicates.

no collections

duplicates do show but not from shows that are missing – some of the duplicates are broadcast episode and webisode showing as that same - which they are not

example of missing show is the youtube series TimeGhost - can be found in folders – moved a new episode to the folder old server found it (already knew about the series) but new server can not find it ?!?

This show? TimeGhost - TheTVDB.com

It matched using the naming & organization shown below.

Some shows are a bit troublesome for Plex.

TimeGhost only has good info at TVDB. It is listed at TMDB under another name, “TimeGhost History,” and the listing at IMDB has no episode info. It is not listed at watch.plex.tv (which can indicate Plex Media Server will have trouble with it).

TV Show libraries default to TMDB episode ordering. If you still have trouble matching the show, try switching the library to TVDB. Edit the Library → Advanced → Episode Ordering.

If that helps it match, then edit the show (:pencil:) and choose TVDB Aired episode ordering (in Advanced section).

You should then be able to return the library to TMDB if desired.
