New to Plex - Clarification on HD a/v passthrough

I am new to Plex finally jumping ship from the WMC. I am considering using plex but I have been unable to find specific documentation that states the actual HD a/v passthrough.

I have my htpc set up with a NVidia 1060 card which supports hdcp 2.2 and hdmi 2.0b, this is connected to my Denon x6300h receiver with an hdmi cable. I do use the wmc for dvr functions also. I have no problems with the passthrough.

Ultimatly depending on the answer, I am considering ditching my htpc in favor of the Tivo Bolt Plus. It handles 4k and has a plex app according to their site. My questions are:

  1. Is that Plex app made spacifically for that model Tivo?
  2. Does it support all HD audio passthrough, Atmos etc?
  3. If “no” does the windows app support Passthrough of all HD audio?
  4. I do not want the app to transcode anything as my clients are capable and all are hdmi out to recievers, it that what “directplay” is used for?
  5. I have used Media Center Master for a very long time and have all my poster art, banners, and backdrops, etc. I want to continue to use what I have without it being altered by Plex. Does Plex use what I have or will it overwrite it with its own info?
  6. All my files are in the mkv container in the H264 format with HD audio only. I am aware that not all devices can handle the hd codec. I will only be streaming from my server on a lan to other htpc’s that can handle 4k video and the hd audio. Will I have any issues with either the video or the audio?

I ask these questions spacifically for both the HTPC (win7) and the Tivo bolt Plus. I do not have the Tivo and am only considering it due to it allegedly being able to do what I have described. But you can only take any manufactures word with a grain of salt and thus why I posted the questions here.

Thanks for your input.

NO ONE KNOWS?

That is what I call a reply! Thanks for the info as you answered the questions the best you could. I kind of figured that already but I had to ask to confirm.

thanks again. :)>-
