New to plex, help please!

I just started my 14 day free trial of the remote watch pass. When I open the plex desktop website on my phone, and the IOS app, both say that they can’t connect to my server.

Everything is working locally. My plex app on MacBook works fine, plex website works fine, my smart tv app works fine. I can play everything in my library on these things. But my iPhone does not or cannot connect remotely.

I disabled the private network setting on my wifi but that’s all I can think of. I’ve seen a few articles but nothing has been resolved that I can see or that has worked for me.

I’m not personally familiar with remote watching, but as you’re a new user I’ll mention a couple of things that you might not have seen yet.

  1. The Plex Support Articles are their version of a user manual.
  2. A big part of watching remotely is configured by going into Plex for Mac (or similar), then clicking on the wrench in the upper right to get to Settings → Remote Access
