New to plex

Hello, i have some problems with my new plex setup.

My plex server is a synology ds-718+ with 2gb ram and 2 wd red 6tb each. For the player i use a ps4 pro with plex installed. both of them are connected to a 1gb swtch. The main problem is that when i try to play large videos i get buffering every 2 seconds. also when i bought the synology, i looked what nas is compatible with plex and i choosed it because plex site said that it has hardware transcoding, but when i search the server menu i don’t see anything about hardware transcoding.

You need to run Plex server with a Plex Pass version (paid) in order to unlock HW transcoding. Do you have a plex pass?

It is not a special server version but your account needs a subscription as it is a Plex Pass feature

will i see any diference with hardware transcoding? no i do not have a plex pass yet

all my files are mkv from 1gb up 70gb. the problem occurs to all videos… i read on some forums that the problem also is on my ps4 pro that is not the best player… is that true? if i buy for example the nvidia shield will i see diference?

also can someone tell me the best setting for my server and my setup?

for setup i mean the settings inside plex server…for example how much time buffer etc etc…
i don’t want to give more money for ram… so buying an nvidia shield and a plex pass that will enable hardware transcoding will be better from now correct?
