It definitely has issues. I am on Truenas/Freebsd with a very vanilla installation in a jail (I run via the start.sh script with user plex, the library is in the default /home/plex/Library for user plex) and I just upgraded manually from 1.22.0.4163 to 1.22.2.4282.
The server is unreacheable and it does not see the library like at all.
If I connect locally it seems like I have installed a new server and I am pretty sure the database is being reset or corrupted because if I just run the previous version after the update without rolling back the Library folder, it does not work anymore. I am attaching the log files that have a modification time today after I launch the upgraded server. plexlog.zip (187.0 KB)
Fortunately I am on ZFS and I have the snapshots (not the first time something like this happen, which is the main reason I have been maintaining plex manually for years). So I can rollback the database, too and everything works again of course.
I just installed 1.22.2.4282 on my Synology DS216+II. The package now fails to run every time I try to launch it. I get the error message “Failed to run package service.”. I noticed there was a DSM update so I’ve now updated to DSM 6.2.4-25556 but the Plex package still fails to run every time I try to launch it from the Package Centre. Is anyone else having similar issues? I’m not sure what I might have done wrong, or what I can do to repair this or roll back if possible.
I’m having issues with only Roku devices. I have multiple Roku devices, all of them either show “No Content is Available” or the library has weird items like “actions” “activities” and “butler”.
I have logs and would be happy to PM them. Running Linux Ubuntu headless with a custom certificate and domain.
My server works perfect from…
Android
iOS
Web Browser
Tizen (Samsung TV)
I’m sure the logs won’t show a failed playback though, as my Roku’s can’t even see the content to start playing.
if you turned on “local” logging. on the settings page you there will be a url you can access the logs from your computer’s browser. Copy to a txt file and send them the same way as the server logs
I have a reverse proxy on my server via nginx. If it helps, it appears that the issues all happened on April 1. I looked through my play history in Tautulli, and that was the last day anyone with a Roku used my server.
Are the logs from old versions available? I patched Thurs. afternoon, and found the issue. Being Thursday is a heavy usage night, I just re-installed 4276. I did look for logs from the 4282 failures, but there was nothing there. Wiped when I did the downgrade?
only 5 logs old logs are kept by default. a new one is created whenever server is restarted or they reach a certain size. the higher the number at the end the older the log so Plex Media Server.5.log is the oldest. if it was a restart then the top of the log will have server version. if you had heavy usage then they probably rolled over and all the current ones are filled up with the playback events.
