With the new update in can no longer find the play all or shuffle all for a specific library is there still a way to do this as it was one of my favorite features
Removed, don’t count on it coming back
As stated by Philly30, the feature isn’t implemented natively in the new apps yet.
However, if you’re interested in a workaround it’s relatively simple.
- Create a smart collection which contains all the items in the library in question.
- Navigate to the library and select the Collections tab.
- Long-press on the collection you just created and select shuffle.
To create a smart collection, you can use the instructions in this article:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/201273953-collections/#toc-1
This should all be done from the web app (or one of the desktop apps).
As an example, here are the filters for my “All Movies” collection (I’ve got it sorted randomly but any sort type is fine):
Just leave the title blank (the default rule) and it includes all items in the library. If you create one, that “Update …” button will be “Save As.” You need to click the down arrow next to it and select “Save as Smart Collection” and give it a name.
What the actually hell Plex. Can’t shuffle a library now?
This is in release notes for the beta that came out today.
" Add play all and shuffle all actions to libraries."
Just for reference
