Am new to plex tv. I thought it was a platform where I could watch live TV, movies, sports, documentary etc. I linked it to my lg smart TV and it says there is nothing in my library. Does anyone know how it works or what plex is actually for. Thanks
@onosdiamond_yahoo_com Plex is mainly for streaming your media collection from the Plex Media Server you have isntalled on your computer to our various player apps.
We are not a content provider like Netflix, Hulu, etc.
A Plex Pass subscription allows you to configure some extra features on the other wise free Plex Media Server. One of those features (Live TV & DVR) allows it to behave like a software Tivo. So it can connect to a compatible digital tuner device such as on o the HD Homerun devices (which itself would be connected to an OTA antenna)
Is there something specific you want to know?
The difference of free features and what comes with a paid subscription can be found here https://www.plex.tv/plex-pass/#modal-features
