Hello Everyone. So I am having trouble downloading the new version Version 1.5.7.4016. When I click on the download, it wants to save the file by using VLC Player to open it. What program is required to open the file, I just don’t get it. I am not very computer savy. Also, Since I updated a couple of months ago the Plex version, I am not able to play anything as an error message keeps popping up saying Conversion failed. A codec required failed or could not be found. I have no clue as to how to fix this. Also, is there a phone number for technical support?

What you’re describing is a misassigned file name extension.
There is no telephone number which can be called. This forum is Plex’s primary support mechanism since the beginning.
Uninstall and find the Plex Media directory and delete the contents of CODECS, reinstall the latest from the downloads section, when you fire up a movie it should download the codec unless Plex.tv is down.
Just an idea. But agree with the above, if the upgrade is bring opened by VLC then you have associated the file with VLC in error and need to open VLC and remove the extension type from its associations.
