Newly added movies not downloading posters. did not make any changes to system

This is why i made a post. I have been using plex for I think 6 years, I have never had an issue I could not resolve myself or by checking forums. Now… I am failing at plex

Did I stump the reinforcements? When I mess things up, I mess them up good

Bump, still no change. Tried restarting system, refreshing all still having the issue. Any other suggestions?

I need to see the process of ‘starting’ the server. This was not included in your last logs.

Could you please do the following:

  1. activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
  2. quit Plex Server
  3. wait 1 minute
  4. start Plex Server
  5. wait 2 minutes
  6. either refresh one movie or add one movie into your library
  7. wait 3 minutes
  8. fetch log files and attach them here

Please don’t do anything else during this procedure, like watching/syncing updating or even just browsing your library.

I refreshed on of the movies that was having issues

Which movie was it?
All I can see in the logs was an attempt to match a tv show “Dr Who”.

expendables

Say, when you scan your libraries, are you doing always all libraries at once?
I see that at 10:00 there was a movie ‘Expendables’ added and matched. Metadata were loaded.
But I don’t see how this was scanned because the scanner logs were flooded with messages from a later library scan.

No, I only scan the library I change. In this case I added my movie library. Scanned only the movie library and it failed to match or failed to show cover art on about 30% of the movies. I can double check and make sure I don’t have it set to scan automatically, but I dont think I do.

Also expendables was already in my library and was one that failed to match. When I went into the movie and clicked refresh. It matched, loaded and showed all data and cover art.

Maybe that has something to do with the issue. I did not scan anything after I refreshed expendables.

Technically the movie is called:
https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/27578-the-expendables
The Expendables (2010)

NONE of the ‘Alternate Titles’ at TMDB elude to ‘Expendables’.
There are at least a dozen moves listed at TMDB with ‘Expendable’, in some form in the name - that could - lead to some confusion.

Filebot would know that - and would name the file to correspond with the Title used at TMDB - in an uncannily technical and correct way, virtually eliminating any confusion that could arise.

Well, filebot did name it. And yes it is the expendables (2010). I believe all my files were matched and renamed by filebot.
Any other thoughts?

***also I deleted my tv series library. So I am just trying to figure out the movies. Any help would be appreciated

@Bsadler I’ve been having a very similar issue for many weeks now, and found another user experiencing it in the Plex Pass forums. I posted there, as well, and got nothing but silence in response.

My filenames are meticulously managed. Movies and TV alike, no piece of media has an “invalid” or “non-compliant” filename. Not one. The problem has occurred only in my Movies library; never in TV or Music. There are 9,000+ titles in my Movies library but this problem occurs only with those added over the last month (though not every title added in that time).

For the heck of it, I copied some older, unaffected movies to a different directory. First I ensured that the library contained all appropriate metadata for these movies. Then I added the new directory as a second movies library. And the problem cropped up there, too. It didn’t match those previously-matched-just-fine movies.

For me, it is not an issue of naming. For me, it is not an issue of permissions. Something else is going on.

Well hey, you’re not alone. This is a problem. There is currently no solution.

Thank you, @NewPlaza
I do appreciate the suggestion.
However, IPv6 is and always has been disabled for this PMS.

It was worth a shot. Have you tried updating the Windows certificates?

From your logs:

\TOWER\Plex\Blu ray
…Expendables (2010)\ <---- folder and file must match and both must be compliant
…The Expendables (2010).mkv

\TOWER\Plex\Blu ray
…Expendables 2 (2012)\ <---- folder and file must match and both must be compliant
…The Expendables 2 (2012).mkv

Should be:

\TOWER\Plex\Blu ray
… The Expendables (2010)\
…The Expendables (2010).mkv
… The Expendables 2 (2012)
…The Expendables 2 (2012).mkv

The Plex Dance®:

  1. remove show/movie from library
  2. rescan library files
  3. empty trash
  4. clean bundles
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200392106-Library-Actions <— update library, empty trash, clean bundles
  5. bring names and structures into compliance/Move LMA/etc
  6. replace corrected show/movie into library
  7. rescan library files

All Steps. In Order. No Shortcuts.

No, sorry. This PMS is running on Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS.
