Me too. Chapters not being recognized with 1.15.5.994. Don’t have time to do a full revert to the prior version right now, but will in the next week if plex doesn’t work this out.
Can confirm this is broken again. Rolling back to 1.15.5.993 I guess…
This seems like a definite bug in the build. Any update on a fix?
Same chapters issue. Remuxing my 3d files to set the 3d flag and was losing chapters. Rolled back to 1.15.5.993 as suggested and chapters being added with analyse again. Thanks for posting and helping me along.
Same. Please fix this.
+1. Broken again.
Corrected in 1.15.6.1079. See this topic for release notes
Not fixed for me. Tried all methods described in this thread, but no joy.
Hi @gingamonkey13 - This is definitely fixed in 1.15.6.1079, however after updating, you will have to do the Plex Dance with your Extras in order to have them re-Analyzed correctly.
I have been using 1.15.6.1079 for a while now and have both corrected broken extras, and imported new extras successfully.
Also there are many users out there that have also confirmed it is fixed in 1.15.6.1079.
Cheers,
Andy.
Thanks @axemanuk666
Guess I’ll give it another go… Could you confirm the process I should be following to force it to work please?
I’ve done all of the cache update/recycle bin emptying stuff, but even after re-adding movie files, Plex still just shows ‘Chapter 20’ (just 1x chapter), and also remembers it’s last re-start position when hitting play.
I’m pretty sure that this metadata should have been removed if I’d correctly nuked and re-added the movie?
Many thanks
FYI - I just totally nuked Plex from my Synology NAS, uninstalling and deleting Plex User/shared folder, etc…
Did clean install and brought ONE movie in which I know has chapter information… Nothing - Just Chapter 20 on it’s lonesome, not Chapters 1-20
I’m running this on the NAS - PlexMediaServer-1.15.6.1079-78232c603-x86.spk
Actually - Could be the video files at fault. Just rebuilt it in MKV Toolnix (no changes), and it’s now showing all chapters. Hopefully, this was the source of the problem.
Thanks for the help peeps!
Hi @gingamonkey13,
Yes, some files can sometimes have odd internal properties. I always run my vids through MKVToolNix as I have it configured to straighten out the language tags. So often I find videos that don’t properly set the language and it shows up in Plex as “unknown”
Anyway, after updating, I did the Plex Dance with the extras. Basically its like this…
- Remove the files from the Plex location.
- Scan the library and ensure the extras are no longer listed.
- Empty the Trash.
- Clean the Bundles.
- Optimize the Database.
- Reintroduce the Extras.
Worked every time.
Cheers,
Andy.
Is this chapter bug resolved in 1.16.2.1321?
@dukdukgoos - This has been fixed since PMS 1.15.6.1079 and is still working as of 1.16.2.1297
Cheers, Andy.
