anything i have added to musicbrainz in the last few days is not being by picked up plex
for context this is what i usually do
1 - add missing album/ep to musicbrainz
2 - drag the url into picard and tag/move tracks
3 - next day scan into plex
4 - plex adds album/ep with artwork and show the record label
This has been working fine up until the other day, but now when adding to plex it wont add art or record label, if i click fix match the release shows up, click on that and get a spinning thing then nothing, unmatching will give me the artwork (local) but not the label (expected behaviour)
now the funny thing is that anything i have added to plex that was already on musicbrainz is working exactly as it should.
so it seems to be only stuff I have added to musicbrainz in the last couple of days
Same here. I assume it is related to MusicBrainz’s schema change/update (see here). For the first few days after that update, I couldn’t match anything new in Musicbrainz to anything in Plex. Now, I can match them, but I can’t get the metadata to populate (like label, genre, critic review, etc.). I’ve tried refreshing metadata many times but still seems to be stuck.
I didn’t know if it was just something that had a backlog of new releases slowly filtering in since the update (and so will resolve itself eventually), or if its something that requires fixing on Plex’s side (or on my side). For me, its anything I’ve added new to MusicBrainz in the past 8 days, which was the same day that they made the upgrade, I believe. Any tips would be appreciated!
A few days ago MB changed their metadata schema. That would probably be the reason why it’s broken. Funny some open core projects got it fixed up sooner than Plex tho.
After reading this thread I remember seeing the schema change and its timing to the agent issues. I did see a notice on the statuspage regarding metadata, hoping that the issue was fixed and we’re now just waiting for it to catch up. Still, a lot of my one week old added albums are still not matching.
