Next Apple TV Testflight release?

To masses ? In this state ? That would be a disaster.

I experience frequent crashes as well as failure to play some titles altogether, stuttering etc..

I am so glad there is one company that cares about apple devices and that is Firecore with their Infuse app

They did it before with the iOS and Android apps! I have no doubt they’ll do it again.

The tvOS app is still a buggy mess. Live TV, scrubbing and the entire playback UI, the lack of native tvOS hover focus physics, the way the settings menu jumps back to the top when you go back from 2 or 3 layers deep… the list of bugs is huge.

I’ve turned off automatic app updates on my Apple TV (Settings > Apps > Automatic updates). tvOS doesn’t have a UI to manually manage updates like iOS does, which is deeply frustrating, and makes updating every other app a right pain.

Is there any way to get back in. I kept getting errors saying the version had been removed. I deleted the app and still couldn’t get one to install. I decided to try and leave the TestFlight, with the intention to rejoin. I didn’t realize it was full. Now I’m stuck.

I never left it. It says the developer removed me from the program. There’s no way to rejoin for me.

So any updates from the Plex team as to what’s going on with the Preview release? @BigWheel ?

A bunch of users got booted off the Testflight release and there’s been no info from Plex.

I too am curious why so many active preview users were removed from the new experience TF so close to when a fairly substantial update was released.

It seems a bit counter-productive.

I was able to rejoin the beta when everyone was kicked out, but I just tried the preview again and it still feels the same as it was a few updates ago. Still no background images, no native player (just touching the touchpad on the remote will skip ahead in a movie or tv episode). Feels worse than the YouTube app.

With how Plex is ignoring all feedback just tells us enough about how they don‘t actually want to develop an AppleTV app.

Well, looks like .20 was released for Apple TV. It appears I’m still in the beta in Testflight, have to see if the new version shows up to download again..

May I ask the process you used to rejoin? I don’t have any option to in the TF app, and I don’t have my initial invitation e-mail any longer. Thanks!

I rejoined pretty much immediately after I saw other people and myself being kicked from the beta. I guess I was just lucky and got another free place in the beta. And now it‘s full. I don‘t think there is another method of joining.

Same thing I have been removed. It’s a shame because I was looking forward to test out 20.0, the new search is something I heavily pushed for and now I can’t even test it…

I was away but I was told we did not remove anyone and the Apple ID were still in there but could not download new releases. I’m not sure why y’all got the message about being removed yet based on what I was told.

In any case can any of you who had access previously can you please message me your Apple ID and I can get it to devs that can fix it up for you if they can. ( click on my username to message)

Note for others this is not an open invitation. I cannot add new accounts, there is some bug where folks accounts are there in TestFlight but it is not working correctly.

Please note this worked for one user so you could try this rather than waiting for me. ( and i may not be able to do this for potentially thousands of y’all)

Thank you @BigWheel - just came here to post similar experience as the others. Testflight says I was kicked from the program. Just sent you a message as requested.

DM sent, thank you.

Thank you for your offer. I managed to opt out and opt back in immediately via the TestFlight link and it worked again for me.

Thanks, opting out and back in worked for me as well. I think what happened was when the iOS/iPadOS preview was discontinued, it took out the tvOS users’ access, too, but we were still in the preview so we couldn’t rejoin. Stopping testing ourselves and then rejoining must let us retake our spot.

Just tried that myself and unfortunately it didn’t work for me - says Beta is full when trying to rejoin. And now I’ve lot Testflight access to the IOS versions as well.

Did you work with @BigWheel to get reinstated? I was able to get back in the day they posted.

Sent him my Apple ID shortly after he posted that but didn’t get a response or confirmation as to what to try (or when).
