When using the NFO agent, I had a few questions.

  1. If I use Plex Movie as a fail over (so make a custom agent that uses NFO first then Movie second) will it populate stuff NOT in my NFO or if an NFO is found that is it? I ask because one thing I do like from the Plex Movie agent is seeing Common Sense Media ratings, which I do not have in my NFO
  2. My custom agent isn’t doing anything. I tested a movie, had no nfo and had plex movie as the second option. it wouldn’t find the film at all. Am I doing it wrong or misunderstanding how it works?

I haven’t tried it yet, but I believe you want to make Plex Movie the Primary, so it uses it for matching purposes, but then make it lower priority than the NFO agent, so that if there is an NFO file, it will prefer the data from there.

@don.alcombright if your using NFO as primary you NEED to ensure you have uniqueid tag so plex will match off your NFO file or they’ll be unmatched and plex won’t load anything.

I’d suggest doing what I suggested here TV Episode Titles Correct but Descriptions from Different Similarly-Named Show (Voltron) - #5 by dokuro. This matches off the main plex agent but as its lowest in priority so once the match if done the metadata is loaded from everything else before getting to the standard plex agent.
