I have two servers - a Windows server, and a Linux server on a Raspberry Pi, without GUI. The Windows server I had no problems with, except I had to reclaim the server.
When I goto the localIP of the Raspberry Pi server, like ::32400/web/index.html, all I get is a XML script, like
<MediaContainer size=“25” allowCameraUpload=“0” allowChannelAccess=“1” allowSharing=“1”
etc.
On Windows when trying to access the server, I just get “PI-SERVER-NAME is currently unavailable” and “The server “PI-SERVER-NAME” is unreachable. Make sure it’s running, double check your network, and try again.”.
The server software is the latest, just updated a few days ago. I’ve used the server since.
From the result, it seems you only used a snippet of the given URL (e.g. [Pi IP address]:32400 instead of [Pi IP address]:32400/web). Make sure you’re on the same subnet as the device when attempting to reclaim it!
Yeah, sorry about that. I already tried that from the beginning (actually with :32400/web/index.html)
But now it works. Server is back and running. I have no clue, what changed.
Only error now is, that if I access the Pi server from my Windows PC, in the settings panel where I can choose the server, it now says “The server “PI-SERVER-NAME” does not allow secure connections”. And a red alert triangle at the server name. But it has a button called “Allow insecure connections”. I’m not too keen to press that one, as I’ve had problems with that in the past, making my server completely inaccessible, and requiring a complete reinstallation of the server software.
And I only ever access the PI server via my TV and its Plex app.
