No audio, Android player or casting from browser

Everything was working fine yesterday.

But late last night, I wanted to watch something on my Android tablet (Nvidia Shield), and while the tv show would play video, there was no audio. I launched a YouTube video and a saved video in VLC, which both worked. If I open my Plex server interface through a browser, I can play any video with the correct sound, but the whenever I cast to to any of my Chromecast devices, it no longer plays audio.

I updated my Ubuntu server sometime in the past day or two, and just did so again to version 1.2.6.2975. My tablet is running the Android app, version 5.1.1.199, which I updated earlier today. But still… nothing. No sound at all.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Have I missed a new setting that I cannot find? It’s quite frustrating.

i’m having the same issue on my note 4 and my wifes s5 all of a sudden. we can hear some shows but most we cannot. no music, no voice. if i play the same content on our fire tv, or fire tv sticks they work perfectly fine. this same content worked perfectly fine a couple days ago (prior to me updating to the latest plex pass version).
