No audio for BBC1 on Freeview in Tizen Preview

Server Version#: 1.21.1.3753
Player Version#: 5.6.1

When tuning Live TV to BBC 1 (Channel 001) on Freeview I don’t have any audio.

If I start viewing the channel and allow it to start buffering I can then view the list of audio tracks available:

  • English (MP2 Stereo)
  • English (MP2 Mono)
  • Unknown (MP2 Stereo)

Unfortunately Plex automatically selects the Unknown (MP2 Stereo) audio track despite having the application set to either English or English (UK) in Settings -> General -> Language.

I can then change the audio track to English (MP2 Stereo) and everything is fine but
as soon as I navigate to another part of Plex and return to viewing BBC 1 it automatically chooses Unknown (MP2 Stereo) again.

I using a HDHomerun Connect Quatro but I don’t have the issue in Plex for Windows but I do see a similar issue with the Xbox One app which I raised in the Xbox One App preview thread where it won’t play BBC 1 video until I change the audio track - which I guess could be related.

@sLumpy Apologies if this has already been picked up by the team for the Tizen app, from that thread, but as a) I only mentioned the Tizen app in passing there and b) I saw from today’s release notes there had been some fixes for Live TV, I thought I would raise the issue separately as it is still happening in 5.6.1.

This only affects the user interface language of the web app.

Go here https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/account
and edit the “Audio & Subtitle Settings”.
Tick the checkbox “Automatically select audio and subtitle tracks”
then set

I suspected that was the case.

Thank you - Whilst the option was ticked the Preferred Audio Language and Preferred Subtitle Language were not set.

It worked for the Tizen app and I will try the Xbox One app later to see it if fixes the video issue as well.
