Yes I can confirm that now today my plex app in my Apple TV sound like robots when trying to decode 5.1ac3 this should be a huge priority to be fixed

If you donāt have sound in the app after switching to iOS 15/tvOS 15 beta go to the settings of the plex player and choose the old player in the settings

Same issue for me, using v7.20 of Plex, on Apple TVos 15 (19J5288e), can confirm that adjusting the setting of the player to the āold video player is enabledā works to resolve the audio issues for now. There was no need to disable Direct play.
Still happening on Beta 3 of tvOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Monterey.

The new plex server update 1.23.6.4810 fixes the issue.
Edit: Not fixed but latest iOS testflight version 7.21 (642) fixed it.

Didnāt fix the issue here. Still require old player; AC3/EAC3 wonāt play in the new player.

September probably - but latest plexpass server update fixed the problem for me
I too have the same issue with no audio on iPhone, AppleTv and iPad all running public beta 2. I found a reliable workaround. Change audio quality to āConvert Automaticallyā instead of āOriginalā and it youāll get the sound. The downside is the server will transcode the audio/video.
The server is running on macOS Monterey beta too. Audio works fine on PS5.
I understand itās beta and Iām going to hang back until Plex is updated.
And nevermind what I said before. Its not fixed. Dont know if some shows worked and some didnt, but in the evening I was left without sound again, so Iām sorry for this misinformation

I found out that itās not the plex server update but actually iOS plex app on testflight version 7.21 (642) is working for both EAC3/AC3 audio on iOS 15 beta 3. However, plex app on tvOS 15 beta 3 testflight version 7.21 (533) is not working.
Edit: I had the old player enabled on plex app on iOS
Iām not seeing this to be the case on iOS 15 beta 3. Do you have the old player enabled? Thatās the only place AC3/EAC3 presumably works at the moment.

Are you guys only seeing this issue on TVOS 15? Iām on 14.7 and having this issue. Just created a home theater setup using Plex and AppleTV 4k (1st gen). I really want Atmos and Iām only getting it on the streaming services and Infuse7, but not Plex. Hoping this is fixed soon.
I decided to try updating to tvOS 15 and then use the old player option to get atmos working since some of you have had success. I have the no sound issue you guys described but when I select old player in settings, I canāt get Plex to play anything. Just what seems like a paused black screen. Anyone else have this?
Exactly what Iām experiencing when trying to enable the old player. Audio issue only occurs with AC3/EAC3 audio on new player.
Two more weeks and another beta later. Still no hint of a on a fix. 
Guess Iāll just tell everyone to use Infuse, which works no problem.

I finally found a solution!
Play you video on your iPhone, iPad or Mac in Plex, then AirPlay to the Apple TV. It works! And there is an extra bonus, this way you even have Picture in Picture working.

reverting to the old player worked for me, doesnāt direct play but does direct stream with just a container change it seems.
So I was told a couple weeks ago, on this thread, that this would be fixed by the time there was a public release of IOS15. So surely the public beta release would be a good target date?
There are now many MANY more public users struggling with this issue and there have been roughly 3 public releases of Plex iOS since yet still no fix?
How is it that Infuse were able to sort out their IOS15 issues within the first week of the beta release? Surely no audio supersedes all other minor bugs for your IOS team? Having users switch to the old player and lesson their viewing experience isnāt a solution.
