No audio through Plexconnect direct play

I have two ATV3s and two Plex Servers w/ Plexconnect on each.  Both had plexconnect 0.3.1+ and ATV3 6.1.1.  One of the ATV3s was inadvertently updated to 7.0.2 so I updated one of the plex servers to 09.11.1 and plexconnect to 0.4-dev.  Everything is fine except I have no sound with direct play.  

 

I don't think its the plex server because i can play from that server through plexconnect 0.3.1 on my other ATV3.  I could be wrong but It seems to be something with plexconnect.  I have sound if I set Plexconnect to transcode.  All movies are mp4. The plex server and Plex connect with the issue are running on OSX 10.6.8.  Any thoughts.  Not sure where to find a log I can attach.

EDIT:  Just found "How to Report an Issue".  Getting that information now.

 

  • Your ATV model (2 or 3) and firmware version (found under the ATV settings > general > about > Apple TV software): 7.0.2

  • The DNS server set on the ATV (found under the ATV settings > general > network > DNS): 192.169.0.15

  • The local IP address of the device that PlexConnect is installed on: 192.168.0.15

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that PlexConnect is installed on: Mac Mini OSX 10.6.8.  (Plexconnect and PMS are on the same server.)

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: Mac Mini OSX 10.6.8

  • The Plex media server (PMS) version number you are running (do not put 'latest'): 09.11.1

  • The local IP address of the device that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: 192.168.0.15

  • The PlexConnect version number. If using Github source then a time and date of download (look at the creation date of the folder) and if you are using any non-standard setup e.g. Plexify or a fork. 0.4-Dev

 

The Plexconnect.log is 2.3Mb so I attached the file?  Too big for pastebin.

Just as a quick response: it may be an issue with your tv or sound system not supporting the audio codec. I can't remember, and I thought there were safeguards against it, but it may just be that it's not being decoded correctly at the receiving end.

I didn't think that would be the case but it seems you are correct.  Just tried it on another (newer) TV and it works fine.  Strange because these are ripped to AC3.  Nothing else on the ATV3 has a problem.  Oh well.  Good excuse for a new TV.   ;)
