My broadband went out today for a couple of hours, and I had ZERO access to any of my 3 plex media servers.
Localhost and direct IP failed to resolve anything.
Does Plex require an ALWAYS ON internet connection?

I posted the question on Reddit for alternatives to plex.
I have to say Jellyfin is free and superior.
Nothing is hidden behind a paywall.
Also, no always on internet is required.
You can set an ip range of devices allowed to connect without authentication in the network section of the server. This should allow you to use your server offline or when plex.tv is unavailable.
