I just bought a DVBLogic TVButler DVB-T/T2 USB dongle.
Plex on Synology NAS & TVButler found no channels
Plex on Linux Ubuntu laptop & TVButler found no channels
DVBLogic Free Player on the same Linux Ubuntu laptop & same TVButler device found 36 channels, using the same settings (Antenna, France, Full scan for all Europe frequencies)
Is it not possible to obtain logs when DVR is “scanning” ?
Nothing in the system log files, no info in Plex log file (AFAICT)
It simply but silently fails to find any channel
The 100TC is supported, but the T/T2 is not listed. So if they are two different devices then the one you have just doesn’t work with Plex at this time.
once the first scan has been performed, Plex fails to scan anything else. Removing/Inserting the USB dongle does not even help, BUT a full NAS reboot does !!
the France channel from the INI definition file is simply incomplete/wrong. Here is a far better one:
The link to the DVBLogic web site (https://dvblogic.com/en/tvbutler/tvbutler-100tc-tuner-only/) leads to “TVButler 100TC DVB-C/T/T2 stick (tuner only)” so I think it is the same part number, i.e. a USB Dongle that can tune on T/T2 (antenna) and C (cable). I found no other product on their web site. Quoting:
TVButler 100TC triple stick is a small USB TV dongle to receive high (HD) and standard (SD) definition clear/unencrypted digital cable (DVB-C) and digital terrestrial (DVB-T and DVB-T2) TV channels.
Just upgraded to the latest Plex server version (PlexMediaServer-1.7.6.4058-8fa494d15-arm7).
Channel discovery is still all but functional: only 6 (out of 36) are found, and one free-to-air channel is marked as “protected”…
The DVB-T scanner file (/volume1/@appstore/Plex Media Server/Resources/Tuner/Shared/scanners/dvbt/transponder/4608.ini) is still very outdated. How to report to the developer this issue?
