I like to use now Plex DVR together with the TVButler from DVBLogic. I’m very happy it is possible now but I have problem with found channels in the Netherlands. Plex find directly my tv butler so that goes very good. but now I want to find cable channels. The signal must be good because I have now also television with good signal with dvblink self so that is not the problem.
I need to use: Ziggo frequency 474000 this one is also in the list but when I scan the channels, it stays on 0% and found no channels, than I check all others in the list also 0%.
How comes this because at dvblink with exact the same ziggo frequency than the tvbutler found all channels with good signal.
Can anybody help me with this problem? (see also print screen)
Are you sure that you first select Ziggo (474000) and then click SCAN CHANNELS after which it will pop up with the Network ID (4444 for FTA Ziggo) and then it will find all channels? Cause I just double checked it on my Windows 10 box with PMS 1.7.2 and WinTV Dual HD and TVButler both give me channels within a few seconds.
I don’t get the pop up with Network ID (4444 for FTA Ziggo): See print screen when I click now on scan channels I get after 5 sec the message with no channels found.
i have the same problem with a TVButler connected via USB @ Synology DS415+ NAS. The tuner is recognized perfectly, also the selection of DVB-T and DVB-C configurations appears. But, in all configurations I have tried no channels were found, signal should be fine since it works with other tuners and also with the TVButler software directly installed on my NAS.
Looking for your feedback.
Thanks a lot.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, my location is Berlin, Germany.
Same problem here… I have got my self a tv butler, and im trying to tune in onto channels but nothing is found.
I am running Plex on a macmini with ubuntu on it.
Just for my information, there is no need to run a tvheadend server for this?
Same issue here as well. Logs are very similar and contain the same type of error message as the logs above. e.g. “dvb_device_factory_t::get_device_list. Id dvb#tvbutler#0#2:1, Name DVBLogic TVButler DVB-C/T/T2 (100tc), Standards 3” and later on during the scan “onetv_factory::StartDevice. Device 2:1 not found”.
I’m getting the similar situation as well on my HPE Proliant Microserver Generation 8 setup as a home server. Using Ubuntu Server 16.04 LTS with Plex Media Server 1.7.2.3878 installed. My log files are attached. Only I’m from the UK and tuning for the Tacolneston transmitter of the Freeview service.
The guy who helps out w/ TV Butler support will be around on Monday, and I will go over these logs with him and try to figure out the problem. Thanks for the patience guys, this tuner should definitely work.
@johsaw on macOS, one of our QA guys replicated your issue, but upon reinstall of PMS entirely it worked. Can you try reinstalling PMS and see if it works any better? @Michiel this is what you did correct?
Do not use the tv headend server software, or any other client else than Plex. Plex has native support for the TV butler without the need of any additional software. A solution already is in the making.
