I am using the same antenna cable that when used with my TV or DVD player receives all the local UK channels perfectly. However when I run scan channels it never picks up ANY channels and fails with “No channels found. Make sure your device has a signal from your antenna and try scanning again.”
I am using a WD PR4100 as the NAS for this Plex Server. The Hauppage is plugged into the usb port on the NAS. I haverthe TV/Media Device Drivers version
0.6.9 installed.
I have been trying this at intervals for a very long time and through multiple versions of Plex.
Hi,
I would Read this the following Plex Guide.
@sim4543 If you are planning on just running the Plex media server on a NAS rather than on a PC, then it would be better to get a HDHomeRun instead of the Hauppage WinTV
Hi,
Is there a reason for that?
Does it enable watching UK live TV via Plex?
I read all the topics and they all seemed to recommend the Hauppage . The Hauppage is also one of those supported, or so this indicated:

Thanks.
@SE56 Thanks, I have read that guide and followed it. However it fails after step 4. So it seems that there is little that I can do apart from retry. (which fails again…no matter what I do). According to google I am not alone with that error. However I have been unable to find a resolution that works.
I am hoping someone here can help.
Have you tried the full UK frequency scan, the other more specific transmitter based ones will be wrong.
These are supported tuners: https://support.plex.tv/articles/225877427-supported-dvr-tuners-and-antennas/
@e10kstarfire Thanks for the suggestion, I tried the full range with no better luck. I am also reading the article, which wasn’t around when I started this - thanks. I seem to recall that when I started the Hauppage was supported on NAS which was why I purchased it specifically for this purpose:-(
I run unRAID with tvheadend and tvhproxy so can’t assist with your NAS issue.
What you could do is to collect and examine the logs after you have tried a channel scan, you may find something useful in them.
@sim4543 When I first tried setting a DVR using Plex I did try a Hauppage product, but found that it locked to their software and didn’t like playing ball with Plex unless you had it setup on a PC. I have a HDHomeRun now, it uses ethernet rather than USB, so it can sit anywhere on your home network and I can watch FreeView anywhere I like and have the integration of it with Plex.
Sorry bit off topic, but can you pickup the HD channels OK in Plex with the HDHomeRun ?
@e10kstarfire Yes all the Freeview HD can be viewed in 1080 no problem.
@HomeMediaServer2018 Thanks, I’ll definitely take a look at the HomeRun. Are you able to view the Freeview channels live from outside your home ? If so is this via Plex?
@sim4543 Yes you can. I travel a lot, so it’s always good to have access to live TV and also recordings that I can access via Plex anywhere I go no matter what country I travel to as well.
@HomeMediaServer2018 Great thanks
