Running Plex apps (web, Mac App, Windows App, Android App) also does not show or allow me to access my server. No error message, it just doesn’t show up. Other servers are working and I know that other people/accounts are able to watch movies on my server.
This leads me to believe it is an issue with my account “capturing” the server. Server version is 1.41.9.9961. When I check to see if there is an update, I get a “something went wrong” “please install manually” error message.
Plex Dash on Android also will not show me anything on. Looking at what server shows “???”.
This is most frustrating as I am unable to either monitor or administer my server.
Further reason why I believe it is an issue with my account “kirkgould” is that I have a second account “kirkgould964” (second separate lifetime Plex Pass) and second server that is not having these issues.
It has been 2 days and no response. Is this not the right place to get support?
Where should I go?
My not being able to access my own server seems to be a serious issue. This is NOT a networking or configuration issue as the setup had been stable for several years and the server is accessible through other accounts.
Your server has last been seen running by plex.tv about 7 days ago.
Is it perhaps crashing immediately? Please go and look at the size of the primary plex database file. If it’s a multitude of the size of its accompanying .blobs db file, then you might be affected by the db bloat issue.
I am not sure why plex.tv has not seen my server. Over a dozen people using their Plex accounts have been using my server without issue. It was only MY account that had issues.
I did find a work-around. On the same machine running PMS (a Mac mini), I would do the “Open Plex” dropdown which would open a browser window. While it still won’t show my server, I was able to navigate and pin the libraries. In addition I could do some admin functions (invite a user to my server). However, using the Plex Client App on the same machine did NOT show anything about my server. Any client on any other machine also did not show my server as long as I used my account.
I checked the DB and while it is not small (4.5GB) that is consistent with the amount of content I have. I looked at history of the DB and there has not been any large change. The machine itself has over 100GB of free space.
As I was doing these checkins and investigations today, my account started working again. Again, I do not think the issue was with my server as I have done no changes and reboots did not improve things.
Am happy my issue has gone away but as others are seeing this I think there is a Plex side issue which I hope is found.
I am having the same problem pretty much. Started a new server since my last one died and I can see all libraries on the new one fine. But when I go to share my library with any user it gives me the “no server connected” error.
Ever since Plex created Plex apps I have not been able to connect to my media server.
Everything was working perfectly when I used web access, I haven’t changed anything on my end. Unfortunately live technical support is not available it seems. Additionally I have a lifetime Plex Pass account and Plex doesn’t seen to recognize this when I login.
Can anybody point me in the right direction to resolve my problem? Thank you
