I have the Synology NAS DS720+ with DSM 7.2.2
When I open the PLEX Android app on my TV, I get the following information
“Connect to Plex; Open the browser on your PC”. Next to it are 4 empty fields to enter a 4-digit code. However, the page is unusable.
My real account name (not connected) is displayed on the TV.
Then I opened the browser on my PC.
Nothing is displayed. Hence the first question:
What should happen when I open the PC?
I am logged into the correct account both on my PC (the Plex page was accessed via my NAS) and in my Android app.
If I now enter the URL https://www.plex.tv/link/ in my browser, I see the image Plex Link Account, To link your account please enter the 4-character code displayed on your app. Hence the second question:
Which app is meant? A 4-character code does not appear on the interface of my PC, nor in the browser, nor in the Android app.
The following appears under “Approved devices":
Chrome (Plex Web), my smartphone and my NAS appear under “Authorized devices”.
My TV is not visible.
Grab the Plex player from Orca. It supports the old Samsungs TV, and it works really quite well.
I think 2.14 is the best working version.
Should be available here, unless Plex in its wisdom have removed them.
(Plex_2.014_11112020.zip)is the archive name, but search for “Plex for Samsung orca” or something
It should even be available on Samsung Smart Tv.
