Server Version#: 1.28.1.6104-788f82488
Player Version#: 8.10 (4002)
The issue I am having is that when I try to access my server, I am unable to access content. If I use Plex Web on the Windows 10 server itself (using Chrome, Plex Web version 4.84.1), I get a message stating that “Not Authorized: you do not have access to this server”.
If I try to access the content via Apple TV app (player version shown above), it it just saying No content.
If I shutdown Plex Media Server and start it up again, everything works fine. After a few days, this error will return.
I have searched the forums and read about needing to make a new token after the mandatory password reset, but I don’t think my application was using a token. Also, the fact that it works after a restart is confusing me.
Do you have your network configured to give your PC a static local IP address? If not, do so. It sounds like the local IP address for your server is changing. Your server and clients cache the IP address so if it changes, it ends up looking at the old address. Restarting PMS updates the IP address so it will work until the IP changes again.
Just when I thought everything was going alright, this issue popped back up again. I checked the IP of the server, and it is correct and has not changed since I setup the reservations.
However, yesterday I went to access Plex via Apple TV and I was given the server Not Available message. I went to the server and opened up a browser, same problem, it said no access. I quit Plex Media Server, restarted it, and it worked fine in the browser on the server.
Went back to the Apple TV, still not working. Logged out, logged back in to the same account, and it was working again.
