No devices found only in desktop app

When using the Plex.app on MacOS, it says there are no devices found when attempting to cast.

My Chromecasts and other devices are found using the Chrome browser just fine, and I see them from the Plex apps on my phones and tablets.

I have those other options for now, but I am just curious as to why the new desktop app itself is the only player unable to cast, especially when Chrome is able to from the same machine…

I also disabled firewalls on both my router, server and player devices as a test, but they still don’t show up.

This is a server issue actually. A fix is coming but I don’t have an eta

I forgot to scan release notes for known issues, so sorry if I missed that already being in there.

to be clear the chromecast will not show up in the app. chromecast is only supported through Chrome browser per googles official API

I was talking about the issue of other Plex apps like Plex for Roku not showing up in menu

Oh that makes sense, thanks again. I have Chrome and Plex on mobile, so it’s not a big issue functionality wise.
