No players found in Plex Desktop app

Clicking cast icon in Plex desktop app says no player found, though cast works in Plex web app.

Is this on Mac or Windows?

What device are you trying to cast to and what are your server and player versions (you left them blank)?

Chromecast, windows OS, server - I don’t know what you are referring to, you can give an example. Version 1.17.0.1841 and it says up to date.

You can only cast to chromecast from Chrome Browser, Android and iOS. those are the only things Google’s Chromecast API accepts. https://developers.google.com/cast/docs/reference/

Oh, I asked this question because there is a same cast icon that is present in web app in desktop app too, Don’t know why it is given then. Also another app called videostream(desktop app) allows to cast in chromecast, just FYI.

I don’t know what Video stream is using but we only use official API.

You can cast/fling to other Plex apps like our Roku app for example. Simpler to put all of that under one menu we just kept the same icon.

I have a similar problem. The Windows 10 App (1.3.1.916-1cb2c34d) doesn’t find any devices (Android phone + Fire TV in the same network). Funny thing is that the Android device lists the Windows 10 app + Fire TV.

Any Suggestions?
