No disk in drive error

Hello, I just installed open PHT and whenever I launch the program I get an error saying that there is no disk in the drive. If I continue, retry or ignore it comes back two or three times until it launches and works perfectly fine. Any ideas, I’m on an Intel NUC running windows 8. TIA

Can you screenshot the exact error? Sounds like something is referencing an invalid disk drive. Also, what version of OpenPHT are you using?

Hello, I’ll try and get a screenshot but it’s on another PC. I am very confused by this as I know openpht doesnt play from disk. I’ve ensured it’s not the system and is up to date. All drivers are happy as well. Plex home theatre never gave me any issue, in fact in the 3 years I’ve used this nuc I’ve never seen this error. It is completely replicable though so it must be something conflicting somewhere…

Hopefully this will work

It worked. How are you launching OpenPHT? Do you have it pinned to your task bar? I suspect something is wrong in your shortcut properties or actual OpenPHT settings referencing a non-existent drive D:

There are a couple options to fix this,

1 - find the driver reference in the settings and correct it. (preferred)
2 - map a drive letter to a physical drive to bypass the error.

If you browse via explorer to the actual OpenPHT installation and run the executable does it do the same thing?

Default windowns location is: “C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenPHT\OpenPHT.exe”

So I can’t find where you can add or remove driver references inside the app.

Yes even if you go to the default location and launch the app, it still gives an error message.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling fresh. Something is referencing a drive that isn’t there.

are you guys still having this issue?

i was hoping that the latest release will take care of this but it hasn’t.

i have a freshly built win7 machine with openPHT 1.7.1 and even upgrading to 1.8.0 but still having the problem. It only occurs if i had a disk in the drive, when its removed and I open openPHT i get the error. If i reboot the problem goes away until the next time a disk is in the drive and removed.

Have you, by chance, tried changing the drive letter for the drive? I did something similar and it helped me. See the following thread:

will try thanks…

Did that work? If not, maybe check your openpht logfile to see if it gives any more info in the following directory:
C:\Users[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\OpenPHT

that worked thanks…
