Hi,
Was wondering if there is a howto on how to install OpenPHT whilst I currently, still, run Plex Home Theater.
My technical skills with this are rusty - hence I installed PHT as this was very simple.
Any advice will be helpfull.

You can install OpenPHT alongside PHT, just run the installer for Windows or copy the app to the application folder on OSX, you can download from here https://github.com/RasPlex/OpenPHT/releases

Thanks for the reply - Im running the all in one PHT, So OpenElec + PHT in 1 installer… I dont have a base OSX or Windows on my Chromebox.
Use the OpenPHT embedded.
If you want to try OpenPHT and keep your existing PHT install, then:
Download the correct embedded image, there are two, one is specifically for Nvidia graphics cards, the other is for any other graphics cards.
On another computer flash the downloaded image to a USB stick, then boot from that USB stick (on the same computer) and the installer will run, install to another USB stick (at least 8Gb), when the install is complete insert the second USB stick into your Chromebox and boot from that.
Once you are happy with OpenPHT then run the installer and install to the Chromebox HD, this will destroy your current PHT install.
Hope this helps.

Awesome - it is that simple - I will give it a try - many thanks
Ok - So I installed it to a USB drive - then booted the Chromebox with the USB - I get an error on boot (Isee the PLEX for openelec screen) - top left the error states;
Error in prepare_sysroot: final_check: Could not find system
Starting debugging shell type exit to quit
sh: cant access tty; job control turned off
Now I’m stuck - I didnt want to install it to the internal SSD yet…
btw: I does still have the MattDevo BIOS installed.
Any advice ?
Took the plunge - installed on local SSD and it works.
Fantastic - this was really easy.
Only problem now, is that at 4k res, I see little green dots everywhere… Not a big deal since I dont have 4k content. I also saw the dots during the installer.
I have a Panasonic cx700 and a Yamaha 479 receiver - both should do 4k no problem.
