So I’m running my Plex server on an ubuntu VM, everything works swell with a NVIDIA Shield TV as a client.
I installed an HDHomerun Connect today, set it up in the Plex server and it pulled down the EPG without issue, but I’m having a problem: there’s no “Program Guide” or live TV mentioned anywhere in the Plex app on the Shield TV.
Did I miss a step?
You need three things: Plex Server 1.7.2, Shield TV running NVidia Experience 5.2 firmware, and the latest Plex client on the Shield TV.
Make sure the plex app is updated? I see it on my nvidia shield Plex app. You should see a library called ‘Live TV’. I haven’t tried it since my TV has a tuner, but it great for scheduling recordings. FYI… My Plex server runs on a QNAP.
It may be my Plex Server version then. However, I don’t see any newer updates:

I’m using the Ubuntu apt repo, and when I try to update it says I already have the latest version:

I’ll install manually using the .deb file for now.
Make sure your update channel is set to Plex Pass and not public. I’m at 1.7.2. Does you server have a DVR (Beta) under settings? I assumed it did since you said the epg downloaded. At any rate, I’d go to the Plex site and download 1.7.2.
Yep, all set there. Quick question regarding the Shield TV. In your signature, I see that you always run the beta build of the Plex app. How do I get that?

Sign up for it, then it will show up and install automatically.
