No longer automatic letterboxing

In the past when playing 4K content on my Sony Bravia XR A80J the Plex player would automatically letterbox the movie. Now I am having to manually select letterbox.

Is it supposed to be this way? If I do not manually letterbox the video then it is to zoomed in with the top and bottom cut off.
