Hi Folks

Running PMS 1.19.4.2935 on CentOS8 with media on a NAS (SMB share)
I have migrated my CentOS 7 to 8, reinstalled PMS from scratch and let it rediscover my media (only music)

My music lib is made of 72K albums (900K titles) MP3 only
Every single mp3 is properly tagged with

  • album artist
  • year
  • album
  • track#
  • artist
  • title

The file structure is as follows:
\mp3\A\Aerosmith - 1977 - Draw the line\01 - Draw the line.mp3

Albums with various artists are as follows:
\mp3\V\Various Artists - 1994 - Ram jam a gwaam\01 - Beres Hammond - Road block.mp3

The library root is pointing at \mp3\ on the NAS, and the user plex has access to the NAS (I can play music)

Before I reinstalled, all the metadata was properly shown:
Metadata from tags (genre, year, title…) and metadata having been downloaded (artist bios, concerts…)
After the reinstallation and full scan, no metadata at all… not even what’s in the tags

I have then created a small library with 6 albums, named according to the recommendation (lib root being \mp3\ZZQ)
\mp3\ZZQ\Queen\A day at the races\01 - Tie your mother down
\mp3\ZZQ\Queen\A day at the races\02 - You take my breath away

That did not help, but anyway I will never ever consider reorganising 72K albums like that

Agent config:
Artist - Local media assets (artists) - /home/plex/mp3/ZZQ
Artist - Personal Media Artists
Albums - Local media assets (artists) - /home/plex/mp3/ZZQ
Albums - Personal Media Artists

Library config
Import from iTunes: not ticked
Visibility: Include in home screen…
Album sorting: Library default
Prefer local metadata: ticked
Store track progress: ticked
Include related content from shared libraries: not ticked
Artist Bios: ticked
Album Reviews and Critic Ratings: ticked
Popular Tracks: ticked
Concerts: Ticked
Genres: Embedded Tags
Album Art: Plex Music only
Scanner: Plex Music Scanner
Agent: Personal Media Artists

In the Agent config, I also tried the following, without any more luck:
Artist - Personal Media Artists
Artist - Local media assets (artists) - /home/plex/mp3/ZZQ
Albums - Personal Media Artists
Albums - Local media assets (artists) - /home/plex/mp3/ZZQ

Any clue about what is wrong here???

Just saw your message. In the future, if you need to bump a thread, just write a new comment. Updating an existing comment won’t always gain attention.

Can you share with me 1 album so I can test? Those fields you mentioned should be detected by Plex.
