I decided to get some 3D movies on my Plex server hosted on a debian vm. Everything was ok and Plex was showing correctly 3D playback options to decide id this is H-SBS. I was using it with Samsung browser inside a Gear VR device.
Recently, I’ve updated my phone android rom and updated to Plex Pass. I’m not sure why I have no more 3D menu. I did not modified how the files is renamed on my Plex folders (like** Assassin’s.Creed.H-SBS.(2016).mp4**).
If you have some more guidelines to help me make it work back ?
Plex itself has no support for 3D whatsoever.
If your client has shown you a “3D menu”, it must have come from the device itself, outside of Plex’s influence.
When media is not named correctly, it can work and then suddenly not work any more. It’s not named correctly, it’s never been named correctly, and the naming rules have always been there so this is nothing new. Fix the files first, do the Plex dance, and once everything is right we can continue to troubleshoot.

You seem to tell me that’s not possible but I’ve not dreamed it
While that may be, the support for it did not came from Plex.
It must have come from your device itself, which sensed the 3D content and reacted accordingly.
I re-installed original Android and Gear VR apps (occulus browser, samsung vr browser, samsung phonecast).
I understood that Plex is not the client who gives the h-sbs / … menu, but no changes at the end, no menu comes from any of the above listed apps. And it was working before.
I suppose Plex sends a ‘signal’ when files correctly named to …h-sbs to the player to be able to active a 3d menu.

No, it doesn’t do that.
As I said above: Plex has no, zero, zilch support for or awareness of 3D.
All it does is to take the video file and to forward it to the player, either in a transcoded way or unchanged. It is oblivious to whether the video stream contains a 3D picture as a side-by-side or top-bottom.
The naming convention is only valid in Orca’s Plex App for some older Samsung Smarthub TV’s and some Samsung BluRay players.
Thanks again, what I don’t get is why there is a Plex naming convention for 3D movies (finishing by …h-sbs.mp4) if Plex do nothing about 3D after all (as you said, just needed for old samsung SmartHub TVs).
